Generous Rotary boost welcomed

Our vital transport services, supporting elderly and disabled people across Wyre Forest, have received a £500 boost from Kidderminster and Stourport Rotary Club.

The donation will go towards maintaining and developing our services, enabling hundreds of people to enjoy independent lives free from loneliness and isolation.

Margaret Dudfield, Rotary Club president, said: “We raise thousands of pounds for charities and good causes every year and are delighted to be able to support WFCT.”

We offer door-to-door affordable transport using a fleet of wheelchair-accessible minibuses and volunteers’ cars, enabling people to attend medical appointments, social activities, enjoy trips to shops and visiting family and friends.

Our chair, Glen Collins, said: “We rely heavily on grants and donations to run our services and are indebted to Kidderminster and Stourport Rotarians for their most welcome donation.”

Staffed mainly by volunteers, we complete around 1,500 journeys a month with an annual social impact to society worth more than £400,000.
