We are delighted to announce a massive boost to our funding from Stourport’s Masonic Vernon Lodge, whose members have chosen us as their charity of the year.
They have already handed over an amazing £967 form just two months of fundraising to support our vital transport services provided to hundreds of elderly and disabled people across the district.
David Bedford, the lodge’s Worshipful Master, said: “Through our treasurer, Peter Simner, who is a volunteer driver and trustee of Wyre Forest Community Transport, we are well-aware of the crucial role the charity plays in enabling people to connect with their communities, to attend medical appointments and social activities, enjoy trips to shops and visits to friends and relatives.
“They also organise outings for the most vulnerable, freeing them from isolation and loneliness, and provide transport to care homes for their important trips out.
“We are delighted to be able to support this charity and hope our fundraising, raffles and alms collections will raise a substantial amount in total.”
Our chief officer, David Muggeridge, said: “We are over the moon to have been chosen as the lodge’s charity of the year. Such generosity will go a long way to helping us maintain and develop our lifeline services.
“On behalf of our passenger sand volunteers, I thank the Masons most sincerely.”
